14 Companies Pledge ₹3,500 Crore to Build India's Telecom Manufacturing Hub in Gwalior

Fourteen firms including Dixon, HFCL, and VVDN have committed ₹3,500 crore to a new telecom manufacturing zone in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The hub is a joint venture between the central and state governments, designed to design, manufacture, and test telecom equipment locally. It is being positioned as a centralized national facility for the sector.

Why It Matters

India imports a huge chunk of its telecom equipment. A dedicated domestic manufacturing hub could cut costs, create jobs, and reduce the country's vulnerability to global supply chain disruptions.
