A US federal judge has approved Anthropic's $1.5 billion class action settlement with authors who accused the company of training its AI on copyrighted books without permission. Authors will receive around $3,000 per book included in the settlement. Only 350 authors opted out of the deal, and Anthropic reportedly blocked last-minute opt-outs.
