MintยทFriday, 10 July 2026

Micron has raised its US investment commitment to $250 billion through 2035, up from the $200 billion it announced last June. That figure itself was already an increase from an earlier plan. The investment is focused on expanding semiconductor manufacturing capacity inside the United States.
Why It Matters
Global chip supply affects everything from smartphones to cars to defence equipment. Massive investments like this reshape where chips are made and who controls the supply chain.
