The International Space Station Has a Leaking Russian Module โ€” Astronauts Took Shelter

Ars TechnicaยทSunday, 7 June 2026

Work being done on a leaking module in Russia's section of the International Space Station caused a pressure scare serious enough that astronauts had to move to a safe area. NASA said it is working with Russia's space agency Roscosmos on a fix, but the situation is getting harder to ignore. The ISS is already scheduled to be retired in 2030.

Why It Matters

The ISS is humanity's only continuously occupied space outpost. Problems here affect every country with astronauts on board and all the science experiments running up there.
