FCC Moves to Ban DJI Drone 'Front Companies' Selling Disguised Products in the US

The US Federal Communications Commission is preparing to use its power to retroactively ban gadgets from what it calls 'DJI front companies' โ€” firms suspected of selling DJI drones under different brand names to get around an existing US ban on the Chinese drone maker. This would be the first time the FCC uses a rule it gave itself last October to revoke approval for already-sold devices.

Why It Matters

DJI drones are widely used in India for photography, agriculture, and surveying. US moves to restrict Chinese drone tech often influence how other countries โ€” including India โ€” regulate the same companies.
