BCCI Adopts New MCC Rules: Final Over Must Be Bowled Out, Deliberate No-Balls Punished
Times of IndiaยทTuesday, 21 July 2026
The BCCI will implement new Marylebone Cricket Club rule changes for the 2026-27 domestic season. The final over of the day must now be completed even if a wicket falls during it. Bowlers who deliberately bowl front-foot no-balls will be suspended for the entire match, and declarations are no longer allowed in the final innings.
Why It Matters
These rule changes will directly affect how domestic cricket is played across India โ from Ranji Trophy to other BCCI competitions โ and could eventually filter into international cricket.
