TikTok Tests a Tool That Catches AI Fakes of Real People

TikTok is testing an opt-in tool that scans for AI-generated likenesses of creators and lets them report those fakes to the company. The test is currently limited to some US creators, according to TikTok spokesperson Zachary Kizer. YouTube has been working on a similar tool as well.
Why It Matters
Deepfakes and AI-generated impersonations are a growing problem for creators and ordinary people alike — a detection tool like this could eventually help protect Indians on these platforms too.
