India's Department of Space has introduced new rules to prevent scientists from resigning from critical projects like Gaganyaan. At least 100 scientists quit in recent months, prompting the department to reverse a 2020 rule that let centre directors accept resignations. Now all such requests must be referred to the Department of Space itself.
