Oregon Drops Bid to Block Paramount–Warner Bros. Merger
The Verge·Sunday, 12 July 2026

Oregon's Attorney General Dan Rayfield had been trying to delay the closing of the Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery merger by 60 days, seeking documents to review the deal. He had also asked a state court to pause the merger while his office investigated. According to Deadline and Variety, Rayfield has now withdrawn that effort entirely.
Why It Matters
The Paramount–Warner Bros. merger is one of the biggest media consolidations in years, and its completion reshapes the global entertainment landscape, including streaming services that are popular in India.
