Hundreds of Cobras and Ratsnakes Escape Into Floodwaters in Southern China

Flooding caused by Typhoon Maysak overwhelmed snake breeding farms in Hengzhou, in China's Guangxi region, releasing hundreds of snakes including cobras and king ratsnakes into floodwaters. The typhoon, the first to make landfall in China this season, also left people stranded on rooftops and caused at least 11 deaths. The Guangxi region received up to 280mm of rain in just 12 hours.
