Netflix Brings BuzzFeed, Condé Nast and Other Media Brands to Its Platform
The Verge·Wednesday, 8 July 2026

Starting August 3rd, Netflix will stream video content from dozens of digital media brands including BuzzFeed, Condé Nast, Hearst Magazines, People, and Tastemade. The deal covers both licensed older videos and new ongoing series that would normally have gone to YouTube. Netflix is clearly moving to compete more directly with short-form and mid-form video platforms.
Why It Matters
Netflix is changing what kind of content it offers, blurring the line between a streaming service and a YouTube-style platform — which affects how you spend your screen time.
