Chinese tech giant Tencent has released a new open-weight AI model called Hy3 under an Apache licence — meaning businesses anywhere can use it freely, including in the EU, UK, and South Korea where many previous Chinese AI models were restricted. Hy3 reportedly beats a rival model called GLM-5.2 despite being half the size, except in coding tasks.
