Aviation Fuel and Commercial LPG Prices Drop as Global Crude Costs Ease
Times of IndiaยทThursday, 2 July 2026
State-run oil companies have cut aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices by Rs 5 and commercial LPG prices by Rs 183.5, following a decline in global crude prices and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Domestic LPG cylinder prices and petrol or diesel rates remain unchanged, as oil companies are still absorbing losses from earlier high-cost crude bookings. Airfare relief is also unlikely due to ongoing airspace issues.
Why It Matters
Cheaper commercial LPG directly lowers costs for restaurants and businesses, which could eventually pass savings to consumers โ but don't expect cheaper flights or petrol just yet.
