Google Is Killing the Tenor GIF API — and Your Favourite Apps Will Look Different

Google shut down the Tenor API today, the behind-the-scenes tool that let apps like X, Discord, Bluesky, and WhatsApp show searchable GIF libraries. The Tenor website itself stays alive, but those platforms now have to find new GIF providers or build their own. Google's own apps will keep their Tenor connection.
