New Fed Chair Warsh Is Remaking the Fed โ€” And It's Not What Markets Wanted

Kevin Warsh, the Trump-selected Federal Reserve chairman, signalled a hawkish stance at his first meeting, holding rates steady while removing the Fed's cutting bias from its statement. The median projection among Fed members called for the federal funds rate to end 2026 at 3.8%, a quarter percentage point above the current range. Warsh himself abstained from giving a rate forecast.
