UP Forms SIT to Probe Alleged Embezzlement of Ram Temple Donations
The Uttar Pradesh government has set up a three-member Special Investigation Team to look into allegations that donations made to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya went missing. The SIT was formed following a request from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which says it wants to counter misinformation. The team must submit a preliminary report within seven days and a final report within 15 days.
Why It Matters
The Ram Temple received donations from crores of Indians. If funds have been misused, it directly concerns every donor and raises questions about accountability at one of the country's most high-profile religious institutions.
