SEBI Takes Sahara OFCD Case to Supreme Court After Managers Win Relief
MintยทSunday, 14 June 2026
SEBI has moved the Supreme Court challenging relief granted to managers of a Sahara Group entity in a case involving Optionally Fully Convertible Debentures. The tribunal had found that the entity raised around โน14,106 crore from nearly 1.98 crore investors through these instruments. SEBI is contesting the decision to provide relief to those managers.
Why It Matters
This case involves nearly 2 crore ordinary Indian investors who put money into these debentures. The outcome could affect how much accountability financial market managers face when investors are harmed.
