India's First Home-Assembled C-295 Aircraft Takes Flight — A Big Win for 'Make in India' Defence

India's aerospace sector hit a milestone with the first flight of an India-assembled C-295 transport aircraft. The programme is a $3.5 billion deal with Airbus, under which 40 aircraft will be assembled locally. The C-295 will replace the ageing An-32s in the Indian Air Force, with additional orders also being explored for the Navy and Coast Guard.
